Trump Condemns Pro-Abortion UN Response Plan

“The United States stands with nations that have pledged to protect the unborn.”

The Trump administration is demanding that the United Nations remove references to abortion from their COVID-19 response plan and accusing the international body of using the pandemic to justify politically motivated goals.

To use the COVID-19 pandemic as a justification to pressure governments to change their laws is an affront to the autonomy of each society to determine its own national policies on health care.

In a letter from John Barsa, the acting Administrator of USAID, the UN was asked to “avoid creating controversy” by removing the reference to “abortion as an essential component of the UN’s priorities to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Therefore, the UN should not use this crisis as an opportunity to advance access to abortion as an “essential service.” Unfortunately, the Global HRP does just this, by cynically placing the provision of “sexual and reproductive health services” on the same level of importance as food-insecurity, essential health care, malnutrition, shelter, and sanitation. Most egregious is that the Global HRP calls for the widespread distribution of abortion-inducing drugs and abortion supplies, and for the promotion of abortion in local country settings.

Barsa continues by pointing out that President Trump has made it a priority to defend the unborn saying, “we will never tire of defending innocent life.”

The perverted inclusion of a life-taking procedure in a plan published by the United Nations is an astounding misstep that can only provoke and antagonize nations that respect the sanctity of life. Not only that, but if the UN were to seek to coerce member states into agreeing to this plan, the sovereignty of all free peoples is put at risk.

The entirety of the message can be read below:

The Honorable
António Guterres
The United Nations Secretary-General
United Nations Headquarters
New York, NY 10017

Dear Mr. Secretary-General:

Thank you for your continued efforts to advance the purposes and principles of the United Nations (UN), including the sovereign equality of all its Member States, which the UN Charter established decades ago.

As the largest donor of global health and humanitarian assistance, the United States always has led the world through times of strife, turmoil, and uncertainty. The current pandemic of COVID-19 is no different. Thus far, of the $650.7 million allocated from supplemental funding by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to combat the pandemic globally, we have provided $45.3 million to UN agencies. This is a fraction of USAID’s overall financial support for the UN’s activities, which in Fiscal Year 2019 totaled more than $3.5 billion in funds disbursed.

As the UN and Member States around the world work to address the pandemic of COVID-19, I urge you, your staff, and the UN’s funds, programs, and specialized and technical agencies to stay focused on life-saving interventions. The delivery of essential health care is the first priority around the globe during this time. In addition, severe food shortages could represent a second, deadly impact of the pandemic in many countries. The UN’s Global Humanitarian Response Plan (Global HRP), and its $6.71 billion coordinated appeal, must remain focused on addressing the most urgent, concrete needs that are arising out of the pandemic.

Under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump, the United States has made clear that we will “never tire of defending innocent life.” President Trump said in his address to the 74th UN General Assembly that the UN simply has “no business attacking the sovereignty of nations that wish to protect innocent life.” Indeed, the UN should not intimidate or coerce Member States that are committed to the right to life. To use the COVID-19 pandemic as a justification to pressure governments to change their laws is an affront to the autonomy of each society to determine its own national policies on health care. The United States stands with nations that have pledged to protect the unborn.

To achieve global unity toward this goal, it is essential that the UN’s response to the pandemic avoid creating controversy. Therefore, I ask that you remove references to “sexual and reproductive health,” and its derivatives from the Global HRP, and drop the provision of abortion as an essential component of the UN’s priorities to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Member States are deeply divided over the use of the term “sexual and reproductive health” and its derivatives, and it is among the most polarizing issues raised in UN negotiations. The Global HRP, and the activities of UN agencies and bodies moving forward, should use clear language and take clear action to address the real needs of vulnerable people around the world without promoting abortion. Now is not the time to add unnecessary discord to the COVID-19 response.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. The United States remains committed to working with you to preserve human life and defeat the pandemic of COVID-19. I wish you good health and safety during these challenging days.

Sincerely yours,
John Barsa

UPDATE: White House Physician Explains Why Trump Is Taking Hydroxychloroquine

Sean P. Conley, Physician To The President, Issues Statement Explaining Trump’s Hydroxychloroquine Prescription

Earlier today, Nationalist Review reported that President Trump was taking hydroxychloroquine daily as a preventative measures.

The news, which Trump announced at a White House event, was met with outrage from Fox News host Neil Cavuto, who warned viewers that taking the medication could kill them—until his guest, Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, told him she believed the medication was a valuable resource for clinicians to have in their arsenals.

Conley’s statement reads as follows (document attached below):

“As has been previously reported, two weeks ago one of the President’s support staff tested positive for COVID-19. The President is in very good health and has remained symptom-free. He receives regular COVID-19 testing, all negative to date.”

“After numerous discussions he and I had regarding the evidence for and against the use of hydroxychloroquine, we concluded the potential benefit from treatment outweighed the relative risks.”

“In consultation with out inter-agency partners and subject matter experts around the country, I continue to monitor the myriad studies investigating potential COVID-19 therapies, and I anticipate employing the same shared medical decision making based on evidence at hand in the future.”

WATCH: New Jersey Protesters Seemed To Defeat Government Order, Then The Police Returned

More than 200 protesters gathered to defend a New Jersey gym that opened in violation of the state’s stay-at-home order and they won!

The Atilis Gym in Bellmawr, New Jersey opened its doors early Monday morning after being forcibly closed by the government’s orders for nearly three months. The owners had contacted locals and asked that they come out to support the act of civil disobedience, and in the wee hours of the morning hundreds answered the call.

UPDATE: Local Police were ordered back to the gym after protesters dispersed. A citation and court date was issued.

It’s unclear whether the police returned on their own if they were ordered to from city administrators. They likely avoided causing a riot by issuing the notice in the presence of protesters.

Protesters risked $1,000 fines in order to support the local gym.

Protesters chanting “let’s get back to work” filled up the gym parking lot holding protest signs condemning the governor’s decision to shutdown the state and demanding that some normalcy be returned to their daily lives.

Police were on scene and eventually one officer stepped forward to speak to the crowd. “Formally, you are all in violation of the executive order,” he began. Then he shocked the crowd with his follow up: “On that note, have a good day. Everybody be safe.”

“We are and only were here for everybody’s safety today. We planned for the worst and hoped for the best, and it seems like that’s what we have out here today,” one of the officers on scene said.

The passive acknowledgement of support from law enforcement officers on scene sent shock waves through the crowd as everyone erupted in cheers.

Owners Frank Trombetti and Ian Smith celebrate the success of the protest.

The owners of the gym, Ian Smith and Frank Trombetti, believe that if big box retailers like Walmart can remain open, there’s no reason that their gym must remain shuttered and their livelihoods destroyed. In order to ensure the safety of their patrons, Smith and Trombetti will only be operating the gym at 20% its normal capacity and implementing social distancing and sanitation procedures. WATCH: Neil Cavuto Gets Schooled By Doctor After He Attacked Trump For Taking Hydroxychloroquine

Dr. Janette Nesheiwat sets Neil Cavuto straight on the issue of Hydroxychloroquine

Moments ago, Nationalist Review reported that President Trump has been taking hydroxychloroquine for at least a week and a half. While covering the White House event where the president made the disclosure, Fox News’ Neil Cavuto cut in with an exasperated expression and rant about how taking the medication could “kill you”.

Then, he brought on Janette Nesheiwat, a doctor, to discuss the medication and things didn’t seem to go as Cavuto had planned.

“It’s something that you can consider and you have to have a discussion with your doctor…it’s not going to be good for everyone, but it can be potentially life-saving for others. So I think it’s good to have this medication,” she said.

“Oh, I gotcha,” Cavuto said while looking displeased with the response.

Trump Says He’s Been Taking Hydoxychloroquine For “A Week And A Half”

At a White House event today the president announced that he has been prescribed hydroxychloroquine and also a Z-pack regimen

Hydroxychloroquine, a drug typically used to treat malaria, has been continuously promoted by the president as a potential treatment for those suffering from symptoms of COVID-19. While the president has tested negative for disease, he announced on Monday that he is taking both the anti-malaria drug and azithromycin (commonly referred to as a Z-pack) as a precautionary measure.

“I have been taking it for about a weekend—for about a week and a half,’ he said. ‘Every day. I take a pill every day. At some point I’ll stop.”

The president was not recommended the drug but specifically sought it out and received approval from the White House physician:

“I asked him what do you think,” Trump said. “He said, ‘Well if you’d like it.’ I said, ‘Yeah, I’d like it. I’d like to take it.'”

The president also said that many healthcare workers are taking it as well: “You’d be surprised at how many people are taken and especially the frontline workers before you catch it, the frontline workers many, many are taking it,” he said.

Recognizing that some patients prescribed the medication have suffered side effects, Trump said this:

“Here’s my evidence: I get a lot of positive calls about it. So far I seem to be okay.”

The White House physician prescribed him the medication.

Fox News’ Neil Cavuto was absolutely shocked when he heard the news:

Oregon Salon Owner Was Fined $14,000 And Then CPS Was Sent To Her Home

Lindsey Graham, a Salem, Oregon salon owner, was fined by OSHA for opening early. Then the government sent Child Protective Services to her home.

Defying Oregon’s stay-at-home order, Graham opened her salon doors to customers in early May, and was swiftly fined $14,000 by the state’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration. On the 7th of May, Graham headed out for work and while she was gone her nanny was contacted by Child Protective Services.

Breitbart Reports:

“On May 7th, I got a phone call from my nanny,” said Graham. “As soon as I went to work, a DHS officer came to my home and tried to speak to her, and she said, ‘I don’t feel comfortable answering any questions for you. I think you need to call the homeowner.’ So DHS basically stopped by my house and said they had some claims against me and my family about our home being unfit.”

The same CPS agent returned to Graham’s home the following Monday, and he separated Graham and her husband from their six-year-old son in order to privately interview the child. Graham is also the mother of a three-year-old girl and an eight-week-old son.

Graham stated, “[The CPS agent] came back to my home, and my intention was, ‘Great, let this guy in and let him see what a great, loving, clean, and happy home we have, so he’ll just kind of get out of here.’ … He interviewed myself and my husband in separate rooms. He interviewed my six-year-old son in a separate room, and he searched our home. He made me lift up toilet seats and open our fridge. None of this is warranted. These are all bogus claims. Our home is completely safe and always has been, so this is definitely some kind of vendetta, sending a government agency after my family.”

Fox 12, the local Fox affiliate in Oregon, reached out to the state’s Department of Human Services for comment on the visit from CPS. They’re denying any relation between Graham violating the stay at home order and the subsequent visit from CPS:

“Due to confidentiality laws, we cannot comment on whether or not there is an open CPS assessment against any individual. I want to stress however, that not following Governor Brown’s Stay Home, Save Lives executive order or not following physical distancing guidelines would never be a reason to assign a CPS assessment.”

It’s not like the government ever lies, right?
